Hunter of the North

Lapland

Hunter of the North focuses on providing authentic, local experiences and flavours. Our passions are hunting, fishing and cooking. Our experiences always include local storytelling and a little bit of magic.

Our operations are mostly in Muonio lake and river areas, and in Kilpisjärvi fell and mountain areas. We will also operate in Sweden and Norway. National Park of Pallas-Yllästunturi and various wilderness areas provide the cleanest air, purest waters and eight beautiful seasons to have the full experience. Area organizations Discover Muonio, Lapland and Original Lapland promote the areas with co-operation of Visit Finland and House of Lapland.

We bear responsibility for the environment and therefore minimizing the negative environmental effects caused by tourism is important to us. In our experiences and activities, we strive to be naturefriendly, and we operate on the terms of nature and animals. You can taste the locality in our products, since they are local food and organic.

Guesthouse Box Bed & Breakfast is located in Box, Sipoo in a peaceful village setting, just half an hour’s drive from Helsinki and 20 km from Porvoo. The accommodation is in two different buildings and the Handelsmans Cafe in the courtyard serves homemade, juicy café delicacies and snacks.core/paragraph The café also sells a range of organic, local and eco products.

The food is prepared in the spirit of slow food, mainly from local and ecologically produced lactose-free ingredients and served from a buffet.

Säynätsalo Town Hall is one of the most famous buildings designed by Alvar Aalto. The building has a strong connection to the surrounding nature and community. In the late 1940s, the project was a huge effort for the small municipality of Säynätsalo: 3000 inhabitants, three rather small islands, but an industrialised community.

We operate both in Finland on the Archipelago Sea and in many stunning destinations abroad, including the UK, Norway and Western Sweden.

For more experienced paddlers, we rent quality sea kayaks and paddling equipment. We offer transport of equipment to and from the starting point, assistance in planning the excursions, maps and maintenance support during the excursion.

Krepelin is a year-round accommodation service provider in an authentic 19th-century sea merchant’s yard in the culturally and historically unique town of Kristiinankaupunki.

The hotel consists of nine renovated apartments, all with a private bathroom and kitchen. The apartments are named after their 19th-century uses: the Spice Storage, the Barn, the Horse Stables and the Bailiff House. For the luxury seeker there are three historic suites decorated in early 19th century style all still with modern amenities.

In Kopparö there is a nice 6 km long nature trail in the seascape with several barbecue places and a suspension bridge. The Kopparö area is constantly being developed and in 2020, 6 new holiday cottages were built on the site, along with a new service building for the campsite. Kopparö has started working towards a responsible tourism label.
